When I was in Berlin around 2005, one day there was, shall we say, an "off" smell on the wind; the old boy who was night porter in our hotel said that even sixty years on, there are still uncollected human remains out there, and especially where new building on the outskirts is stiring things up a bit, you can still get the odd whiff at the right time of year.

  10. People who still hate Germans should turn their attention to a majority of the English people instead as a lot of them are some of the rudest fucking people on the planet! I’ve dealt with plenty of rude Americans but it’s even worse for me when a British is rude for me because I’m also dealing with racism in addition to rudeness.

  11. We were in Berlin May 2018. I was stationed there 1975 and took my son and 2 others. I was also an MP at check point Charlie. Spent 2 weeks in Germany and Switzerland. It was good to be back.
